I have struggled with my weight all my life, my energy and my anxiety for as long as I can remember, I have tried different things to lose weight and to be healthier but time and time again I failed, I didn’t have the self control and discipline to be consistence. It was all too hard. When Strini and Ruth took me under their wing they gave me a new lease on life. Ruth with her amazing nutritional knowledge looked at all the foods I liked and didn’t and with my input designed a food plan that was doable, yummy and varied. She taught me the importance of being varied and enjoying the food you were eating. She loved food and it showed me that I could eat well and enjoy every second of it! Ruth is one of the most understanding people I know and it is with this understanding that my lifestyle was given a complete overhaul, most of which started with seeing myself in a positive light. Both Strini and Ruth took part in training me in the gym. I was super nervous that first day, but I have quickly grown to love it. Strini has this incredible zeal for life and a contagious energy. He has an uncanny knack of knowing how far he can push you. Sometimes I would think to myself I don’t think I can do this, but I was reminded of the first few words he said to me concerning my training, “I will never give you more than you can handle.” I trusted that and he was right, it was astounding how far I could actually push myself. The work outs were always different, they were fun and boy did they get results. He doesn’t put restrictions on what you think you can do. Due to the incredible understanding and support that both Ruth and Strini gave me, I was able to change my life for the better, it wasn’t a diet or just a 6 month work out plan, Ruth would tell me that this plan wasn’t about an end goal; it was the beginning of a lifestyle.
I can say that they helped me lose over 20kgs in 6 months and a few dress sizes (my work uniform was a size 22 and it was tight, now I wear a 14), I feel fantastic and have loads of energy, but more importantly they transformed my way of thinking. They have helped me become this disciplined person who has self-control. I no longer catch two busses to UNI so I don’t have to walk up a hill, I take the stairs instead of the elevator, I love getting up to go for walks in the morning. My anxiety is under control and I often get told I have far too much energy… how exciting! I have a confidence in myself, I have new goals for my life and I am excited for what the future holds.
